CRAZY IDEAS THAT WORK is a creative science picture book that combines STEAM education with the concept of “Creative Transformation”, turning everyday objects and waste into innovative, useful products. Through four real-life cases—transforming plastic waste into sustainable concrete, trash into solar-powered cars, hair into oil spill mats, and poop into energy—it shows how creativity paired with science can turn trash into treasure.

The book also includes fun activities like “Science Showdown” (e.g. solar car VS fossil fuel car) and “DIY Science Experiments” (e.g. testing oil adsorption with human hair). These activities not only enrich knowledge and foster parent-child interaction but also inspire children to uncover the endless possibilities hidden in everyday life!

About the author

Rozana Lee

An award-winning author and illustrator, and a mother of two. She worked in multinational corporations for ten years before dedicating over seven years to education, non-profit, and sustainable development, teaching short courses at more than 50 primary schools, secondary schools, and universities. She holds a Master’s degree in Language Studies and is a Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA), a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), and a STEM.org accredited educational instructor. With her unique “creative transformation” style, Rozana is committed to inspiring readers, encouraging them to observe, discover, think, and associate, thereby sparking creativity and boldly embracing infinite possibilities!
